It melted smoothly, and mixed easily with the other ingredients. Essential oils can be added for scent, (though pregnant women should be cautioned that some can be dangerous). The Shea Butter wasn't overly greasy feeling and rubbed into the skin nicely. When it cooled, my homemade body butter turned out real good. It had a smooth consistency that spread easily and evenly. The way this bar came it could be used for anything you want to do with it, whether you use it straight from the box or melt it to fit your use. This is a product of good quality, that I think would do well however you choose to use it.
