This comes in a padded envelope. When you pick it up the first thing you notice is the weight of it. It's really heavy. The versatility and color are perfect. I think that as a bottle opener it works very well, it opened every bottle I had last night. As a self defense item, it's great! I feel so much better knowing that my grandson is carrying something like this around with him. He's an older teenager, and that means he stays out past dark. Our town isn't one with a lot of crime, but you never know in todays world. The point on the end can be used not only for self defense but as a glass breaking tool if you lock yourself out of your car and can't find any other way to get into it. The skull design is great for him, it's "cool" and he doesn't mind carrying it with him. The lanyard on it is good for either wearing it around his neck, tying to a belt loop, or to his keychain. I give this 5 stars for versatility, functionality, and affordability.
